About Mrs. Cruz
Hello! My name is Heather Cruz and this is my very first year here at ABS! I have been teaching for 9 years and I am so excited to kick off year 10 here at Arts Based. I grew up in South Florida and graduated from Florida Atlantic University with a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and a minor in ESOL education. I have two wonderful kiddos Noah (9), who will be starting at ABS this year in 4th grade and Amelia (3). My husband and I love music and enjoy going to see live concerts. I like to paint with watercolors, DIY projects, crafts and some gardening. My favorite season is fall and I love a good cup of coffee! I am patient, flexible and open-minded. I encourage my students to ask questions, take risks and overcome the fear of making mistakes. I am so excited to work together this year!
