All About Mr. Tate
Hello! My name is Adam Tate and I am beyond excited to teach 5th grade here at Arts Based. This will be my 4th year teaching 5th grade here and some of the students may remember me more from our aftercare program or as pizza man from Pizza Fridays. I attended Winston-Salem State University and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in STEM. I was fortunate to have spent time and trained with St. Augustine tutoring (now called READ WRITE SPELL).
I live with my wife, Ashley Tate, who also works at ABS as our Director of Student Services and Operations. I enjoy ice hockey and my favorite team is the Carolina Hurricanes. In my spare time, I enjoy playing video games, camping/hiking, fishing, and playing golf.

Food: Pizza, Tacos, and Burgers
Disney Character: Buzz Lightyear
Holiday: Christmas and Halloween
Candy: Anything gummy and anything sour (not black licorice)
Snack: Jerky and spicy snacks
Chip: Chili Cheese Fritos
Drinks: Soda, Gatorade, and Coffee
Here are a few things I do not enjoy: spiders, heights, beets, and being unorganized.
