Mrs. Campbell's Class
Hello, I am Annie Campbell. This is my 13rd year at ABS, the third at the South Campus teaching second grade. I had spent the past 10 years teaching third grade at the North campus. I have taught for 40 years both in upstate NY and NC. I have a Master's Degree and am certified to teach elementary, exceptional, and gifted education as well as theater arts. Teaching has been my passion ever since I was 3 years old! I used to line up my stuffed animals and teach them EVERYTHING I had learned on Romper Room. (I know that this TV show is a true testimony of my years in education; Google it, it was early education at its finest.) When l am not teaching, l enjoy reading historical fiction, mysteries, and thrillers. My favorite authors are Ruth Ware, Fiona Davis, Louise Penny, & Lisa Jewell. My favorite children’s authors are Kate DiCamillo, Grace Lin, CS Lewis, & Jerry Spinelli. I also love art, music, photography, and painting in my studio. My favorite artists are Chagall, Modigliani, O'Keeffe, Kahlo, and Picasso. My favorite style of music is old country & Bluegrass. We attend Merlefest every year!
I also love to spend time with Kevin, my husband of 31 years, our chickens, and 9-year-old cats, Clover & Willow at our humble farm in Pilot Mountain.
ABS is a magical place! I certainly look forward to having enthusiastic, energetic students experience the joy of exploring second grade together! I am also excited to announce that this will be my final year as a classroom teacher. I am excited to give my ALL to your students in this very special year in my amazing career! I do plan to still “teach kids” during my retirement; kids of the 4-legged variety. However l doubt they will listen and learn as well as yours will this year!
