All About Mr. Tate

Hello! My name is Adam Tate, and I am excited to be teaching 5th grade here at Arts-Based. This will be my 7th year teaching at ABS. I attended Winston-Salem State University and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education with a concentration in STEAM. I am also a semi-seasoned dad of two now: my son, Kamden, now two, and Callie, born in February 2026.

I enjoy Ice Hockey; my favorite team is the Carolina Hurricanes, WOOO 2026 Champs. If I have spare time, I enjoy camping/hiking, fishing, woodworking, and playing golf.....but I mostly spend it working in the yard or with the family.

Color: Orange

Food: Pizza, Tacos, and Burgers

Disney Character: Buzz Lightyear

Holiday: Christmas and Halloween

Candy: Anything gummy and anything sour (not black licorice)

Snack: Jerky and spicy snacks

Chip: Chili Cheese Fritos

Drinks: Gatorade, Mio, and Coffee

Here are a few things I do not enjoy: spiders, heights, beets, and being unorganized.
