Laura Lynne Frazier's Classroom

 

Hello! I'm Laura Lynne Frazier. This is my 13th year teaching 5th grade at ABS. I'm so excited to be working with my team Adam Tate and Renee Meeks here at ABS North and the team at ABS South, Monique Johnson and Jaci Hayden as we begin this new year.

 

When I'm not in the classroom, I love to read, hike, bike, travel, garden (herbs, shade plants and flowers only!), sing, and practice my flute (not nearly often enough!). I'm blessed to have one of my adult children (and grand dog) living in Winston Salem and one in Charlotte, while my oldest is in CA with his wife and my three grandchildren! 

 

Born in Kentucky, I have lived in 8 states and 9 cities. Of course, Winston Salem has become my favorite place with its close proximity to the mountains and the beach, as well as my extended family in East Tennessee. It is also the home of The Arts Based School!  I'm honored to teach here with our wonderful staff full of vibrant, thoughtful, creative, and knowledgeable individuals who inspire me on a daily basis. 

 

Below you will find pictures a few pictures from my travels to Wales Summer 2022 and summer 2024 as I traveled to Nova Scotia, PEI, Acadia National Park, Shenandoah National Park, and The Metropolitan Museum in NYC where I bumped into two former ABS's students! This summer I spent much of the summer recuperating from foot surgery but did get to visit my grandkids in California the last week before teachers returned!! I hope you have been privileged to make a few memories during the summer school break.
