Ms. Trish / Visual Arts K-4
I'm excited to begin my 14th year at the Arts-Based School, where many of you may remember me from Kindergarten or 1st grade. These days, you'll find me in the K–4 Art Room, proudly serving as the Visual Arts Specialist.
As a licensed K–6 educator with a Master's Degree in Teaching, my academic focus has been on Visual Literacy—understanding how we interpret the world around us through images and symbols. It's a skill I believe is essential in today’s visually rich world.
I'm deeply passionate about arts integration and believe that every child is an artist. The art room is a space where creativity blossoms, and I’m thrilled to help students explore, express, and grow through artistic experiences.
🎨 Outside the classroom, I’m a mixed-media abstract artist, a devoted reader, and a nature enthusiast, and I never pass up an afternoon of museum time. I share my life with two amazing daughters—both proud ABS alumni—as well as three dogs, three cats, and a few horses I ride in my spare time. If you spend time in my classroom, you’ll likely hear stories about my trials and tribulations of foster animals, my ever-growing list of favorite books, and the lively crew of personal pets that keep life interesting.
To quote the artist Keith Haring....
“Art should be something that liberates your soul, provokes the imagination and encourages people to go further.”
