Lauren Alzamora / K-2 Dance Instructor, South Campus
Hi, Ms. Lauren here! I am so thrilled to join the amazing team at ABS South Campus as the Dance teacher for K-2nd grade. I started dancing at the age of 3 and hope to never stop!
A little bit about me: I am a proud graduate of UNCSA's dance program. As a former professional dancer with Ballet Hispanico and Aspen Santa Fe Ballet, I feel fortunate to bring over 15 years of worldwide performance and teaching experience to the classroom. I have also been a dedicated movement educator for over a decade and love sharing my knowledge of the human body through movement. Dance is such a versatile art form - it offers our students more tools for self expression and connection. In learning about how our bodies move and becoming aware of how we move in the studio, I believe we have the potential to become more confident and courteous as we move through life. How special that our students get to learn about themselves and explore our wonderful world through movement! I look forward to getting creative with our incredible ABS South teachers.
I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Dance from the LEAP Program at Saint Mary's College, and I am a fully certified Pilates Instructor. I am on faculty at the UNCSA Preparatory Dance Program where I started my own formal training as a young dancer almost 30 years ago. My husband and I have 3 art-loving children, our oldest of which is a rising first-grader at ABS South campus. I am passionate about spreading a joy for dance, movement and everything that goes with it - see you in the studio!
