Mrs. Londono's 2nd Grade
My name is Nicole Londono and I am thrilled to be teaching at The Arts Based School!
I am beginning my 17th year teaching/7th year at ABS and have experience in all primary grades. I feel truly blessed to be a part of the ABS family, both as a parent and teacher. Incorporating the arts into the learning experiences in my classroom while watching children use their natural creativity and curiosity to make discoveries in their learning makes teaching at ABS so awesome! We are going to have a wonderful year together in the classroom!
My favorite things include:
~Spending time with my family and sweet Cocker Spaniel Linda Lou
~Creating art at home (oil pastels and water color)
~Going to the beach & visiting natural settings on our beautiful coast
~Jamming to good tunes which include DMB, 311, Bob Marley and of course 80's-90's classics!
~Reading, especially historical fiction, mystery and of course humorous beach reads
~Speaking Spanish & traveling
I graduated from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2000 (I LOVE to cheer on the Tarheels!)
Throughout my career as an educator, I hold these special milestones close to my heart:
~Earned National Board Certification 2009
~Named Teacher of the Year at Brunson Elementary in 2010
~Presented on the benefits of bilingual education in WSFCS District in 2010
~Presented at the annual World View in Conference in Chapel Hill on bilingual education and STEM in 2012
