Mr. Greene's Classroom

Matthew is very excited to continue his teaching career at the Arts Based School! He received his M.Ed. from UNCG in 2014 and has taught pre-K and Kindergarten for 20 years. Matthew loves helping children develop a love of reading and is a firm believer that unlocking a child's intrinsic motivation is the key to learning. His daughter, Adeline, is a rising senior at Atkins, but went to ABS from 1st through 8th. Matthew is an avid chess player and was once in the 96th percentile of all chess players in NC. When he is not teaching, he enjoys his dog, board games and poker with his wife, politics, comedy/impressions, his garden, and Duke basketball. This is his last year teaching at the Arts Based School as he is moving to Tennessee in the summer. He is forever grateful to the community here and has many fond memories.

Ms. Sara is our classroom teaching assistant, and we are so lucky to have her with us! For the past two years she's enjoyed working with children in preschool as well as the aftercare program here at ABS. This is her 1st year as a TA here. She loves helping children learn and grow, while also making sure they feel supported and valued. Outside of school, she enjoys spending time with family, Zumba, and her energetic Shih Tzu, Jack. Sara is excited about the upcoming school year and is eagerly awaiting helping your children achieve multiple milestones.
