Ms. Jenn

Hi! I'm Ms. Jenn and this is my very first year teaching first grade in the first year at the ABS-Second Campus! That's a lot of firsts, but I assure you I have plenty of experience working with young learners. I have a background in exceptional children (aren't they all! exceptional!) and have worked in a variety of settings with a variety of children with all sorts of strengths. I taught ESL online for four years and have a solid background teaching students to read and write. I worked as a TA at ABS last year and I'm excited to use what I've learned in my very own classroom.

I received my BA in Psychology from Salem College in 2007 and am currently working on my teaching license through the graduate program at UNC-Charlotte.

I have lived in Winston-Salem or WS adjacent for my whole life. I have a wonderful husband and two children. My son (10) is a fifth grader at ABS and my daughter (20) is a graduate student at UNC-Charlotte (like mother, like daughter!).

I enjoy all things quirky-sci-fy and LOVE all of the Marvel movies. I enjoy creating things with my hands and have a new hobby almost every week.

I believe that in order for students learn, instilling a love of learning in the the first few years of school and beyond is essential to their success and I work hard everyday to ensure my students are engaged and learning to love learning.
